OBD
started in the summer of 96'back then we were called No Time. We were a three
piece Ska band consisting of Jesse Howard on guitar,
Warren Rowe on drums and Patrick McLorn on Bass
guitar. Soon after conception, Graham Warren started
playing Trombone and Gary Ware was playing sax and
that was the Begining of something interesting. After numerous changes of
Bass players, we found and settled with a little punk rock kid named Cale
Hartung. His energy is what made this band thrive. He also had an interst
in many styles of music and that added something to the band. More horns were
recruited, including Kevin Kazules. Then the No Time
legacy began.
After
the big fight in '99 we regrouped with the new Drummer Tommy
Childs. We decided the name No Time was a thing of the past so we decided
to be called Other Brother Darryl. With a new name and a new image OBD is
ready for Y2K. So we hired a new singer, Rianna Childs,
got a second guitar, Wayne Stahl, and hit the scene
like a bat crawling its way out of hell.
After a hard winter hit and took all our players again, the band lost everyone except Jesse and Cale. Tommy stopped coming and we never heard from his sister either. Graham and Gary got their horns stolen. Kevin got overwhelmed in school. And Wayne joined his brothers band. The first step was to get a drummer. Mike O'Toole, a long time friend of Cale, and even longer friend of Jesse came to help us out. We needed a singer, and there was one working with Cale at Sun Diego. Tescia was singing for a while and decided it wasnt for her. So Jesse and Cale took on the responsibilities of singing. To add a spice of melody, we got our old bass player, Jim Bean, back from the military and playing some sax licks on a couple songs.
Our current line up is:
Jesse: Guitar/Vocals
Cale: Bass/Vocals
Mike: Drums
Jim: SaxTO
